ABSTRACT
This article will critically review the nitty gritty of Environmental Protection laws, their provisions, compliance and enforcement thereof, with regard to manufacturing industries in Nigeria. The need to carry out this research was activated by the apparent inertia in environmental protection in Nigeria generally and in the manufacturing industries in particular. Accordingly the work examined critically the legislative and institutional framework with regard to environmental protection for manufacturing industries vis--vis the practical realities on ground in the sector in Nigeria. It ended with some pragmatic recommendations for better environmental protection for manufacturing industries in Nigeria.
